Senior Design Project:
Kong Cat Toy

For my senior design project I got the pleasure of interacting with KONG as a sponsor company working closely with Annette Dennison, the product director at kong. The goal was to go through the entire design process in order to develop and produce  a device or interface that will act as a source of entertainment for cats to play with and enjoy. The only restrictions that KONG had placed on this project was that the toy must promote healthy habits for cats because of the vast number that are considered obese. With the help of a marketing student, the group determined that in order to keep the cat entertained, the toy must be customizable and stimulate their predatorily instincts. Furthermore, in order for cat owners to buy our toy it must be ascetically pleasing, safe and unique to the market. Since KONG had very little specification for this product it was up to us to completely come up with a design for a new product as well as the requirements, manufacturing, verification plans, scheduling and budgeting. The freedom given to us during this process allowed me to gain real world experience about product engineering.
